Matchbox Lesney Army Transport Presentation Set Reproduction Box

A reproduction box for the Matchbox Presentation Set ‘Army Transport Set’.

This set is referenced by collectors as PS5, issued circa 1959. It pre-dates the Gift Sets with the GS prefix.

The set contained the M3 tank transporter and Centurion Tank and one each of #49 Half-Track, #55 DUKW, #62 Service Lorry, #63 Army Ambulance, #61 Ferret Scout Car, & #67 Saladin Personell Carrier.

This style is commonly known as the ‘B’ style box with Moko Lesney in the banner.

The pictures show the empty box and an example with the cars inserted. The cars are NOT included. The item for sale is the reproduction box only.

This item is sent fully assembled ready to place your models inside. It is a large parcel to prevent crushing. The original boxes made in the 1950’s were flimsy and easily damaged due to the method of assembly. This box is constructed with a heavier card but is still flimsy. The design was not for display but simply to hold the models before the new (invariably young) owner ripped the models out, and consigned the box to the trash. Hopefully with careful treatment, this display box will display well in your cabinet for many years.
