Description

Matchbox Lesney model #18 Field Car was based on a Chrysler Jeep model.

The original regular wheels model has small red hubs approx 6mm diameter. The original tyres were hard plastic and prone to being lost as the red plastic hubs would shrink. The original tyres were 12mm diameter.

This listing is for a set of 5 tyres that will provide a larger more off-road or SUV style to the vehicle.

These tyres are made generally for Dinky or Triang Spot On mid size models. For best fit pre-heat the tyres in hot, but not boiling, water for 5 minutes, fit to wheel hub, wait a few minutes, reheat for a few minutes and refit to the wheel hub. This should help mould the tyre to the wheel hub shape.

O.D.: 14mm I.D.: 6mm Width:4mm. RecoverToy Tyre reference Y033.

For comparison the originals were O.D.:12mm I.D.: 6mm Width:3mm. RecoverToy Tyre reference Y099.
